I photograph the photogenic, which does not always coincide with "the beautiful."

I am drawn towards desolation and sparseness, pertinacious in my pursuit of a missed detail within what others decipher, as barren or mundane. Intent on exploring all spectrums of the world, I also immerse myself within the picturesque, adamant that I capture my experience in its entirety.

I create art in order to explore such issues as environmental awareness, the human condition and the complexity of existence. I work predominantly within the genres of nature, urban and abstract photography, yet my art is not always based purely on the photographic image.

Through the integration of image and text I am able to explore the interrelationship between photography and the written word. By utilising this marriage of mediums, I gain the ability to reaffirm, even if somewhat ambiguously, the underlying concept within the work.

I am essentially trying to understand the world in which I live.
